"FAMILY RECORD: All data on the BURNS Family taken from the Family Records of Calvin Alex Burns, of Bangor, Blount County, Alabama to his brother Alfred Burns of Navarro County, Texas, dated Aug. 6, 1894. says Charles Burns was from Scotland but may have come from Scotland to Ireland before Virginia and the into Pendleton District, South Carolina. Only known children Alex and John, but suspect there may be more. FAMILY RECORDS: "Burns Family of Blount County, Alabama " To my dear brother, Alfred Burns,of Navarro Co. TX. and his branch of our family, this genealogical sketch is dedicated to his "Long time Brother" Calvin Alex Burns of Bangor, Blount Co. AL. lists on page. 23 Andrew J. and Martha ASHLEY. says The wife of Bro. ASHLEY and mother of Luther was a daughter (Youngest) of Jonas and Sallie BYARS, and sister of Mrs. Robert McMURRAY, Mr. John W. BYARS, Mrs. W. Blount PANNEL, Mrs. Daniel PORTER, our worthy know brothers, Joe B.F. BYARS of Mulberry River and Sulphur Spring neighborhood and Esquire William G. BYARS the 25 year resident and successful merchant of Blount Springs. Also a sister, and much like a twin sister--Nancy Ann, wife of Mr. Macabee GLASCOCK." refers to Martha as little "Patsey", the mother of Luther.
according to the above family record. A daughter of Jonas and Sarah Davis BYARS, listed along with her siblings in this record was married to W. Blount Pannel. The above census shows a William Pannel with wife Nancy. Nancy Ann BYARS is shown to have married Macabee GLASSCOCK in this same record. Could W. Blount Pannel have married Nancy BYARS first as this listing in 1850 census and she married Macabee GLASSCOCK after Wm. Pannel died???
It lists William Blount Pannel's wife as Elizabeth Byars
