Thank you very much. I only have access to the 1850 Alabama census. This Jackson Pannell in the 1860 censusis the son of my greatgreat grandfather John.I have previously guessed, and listedthe William Ellis as Rebecca`s father. Thank you for the lead on Issac Grubbs.
An older source has my John Pannell born in Roane, County, Tennessee,in 1790 but on the 1880 Alabama Census, John`s oldest son by his first wife listed his father as being from South Carolina, I have not been able to find any thing pointing to the birth of John in either state. I found a David Pannell Sr. born in Batesburg, South Carolina in 1763 and living with his grandson John Thomas in Winston Co., Alabama in 1860. This would be about the right age for a father for John and the entrance into Alabama would also be right, but I have only found two children listed for David, a Mary that married a Thomas and David Jr. and wife Polly that left Winston County for Mississippi in 1858 and was never heard from again.
I will continue to research Lucinda Grubbs and see what I come up with. And Enoch Sr. sounds interesting.
Thank you again, Renee
