So glad you posted this!George Lott, patriot of Fairfield, S.C., born about 1745, had a son named William Lott, born about 1775-1778.William Lott married Sarah Grubbs, and had children George, Moses and Enoch Grubbs, and possibly a female child who we have not been able to name and who may have died early in life.Sarah Grubbs died about 1809-1810. The will of Enoch Grubbs, Jr., about 1830, lists George, Moses and Enoch Grubbs, as inheriting as their mother would have, had she lived. In the will of William Lott, in the 1840's in Jackson County, Georgia, William Lott left his son George the sum of one dollar, but left Moses and Enoch slaves and property. We have no other evidence of this George Lott who got the dollar.
George Lott, patriot of Fairfield, had a second wife named Mary Grubbs, who he married sometime between 1784 and 1790.We believe she was the sister of Enoch Grubbs, Sr. She died about 1810, and George Lott, patriot of Fairfield, died in 1812.
George Lott, patriot of Fairfield, had a son named George who married Rachel Woodward. This George Lott removed to Morgan, Alabama about 1820.
George Lott, patriot of Fairfield, had a son named Jesse Lott, Sr.Jesse Lott had a son named George, born about 1800.Jesse Lott removed to Hall County, Georgia shortly before 1830.Jesse Lott's son, George, removed to Hall County, Georgia also, but does not show up in the census there until 1840, although a court record in Hall County evidences his presence about 1836.
I have a deed in 1833 in Fairfield, S.C. where David and Mary Pannel are selling 174.5 acres of land adjacent to the Heirs of Enoch Grubbs, Sr., deceased, to George Lott on the Little River.David and Mary Pannel are listed as residents of Chester, S.C., as is this George Lott.
Evidently from your post, Elizabeth Grubbs, wife of William Pannel, was a daughter of Enoch Grubbs, Sr.
We are trying to determine which of our George Lotts bought land from David and Mary Pannel, and would like to know David's connection to Elizabeth Grubbs. The following year, in 1834, this George Lott sold the same land to William Hedgepath.
Any information on these families would be appreciated.Thank you.
