I believe you may be referring to Thomas and Katherine Pannell (variant spellings) originally from Northamptonshire, England. They moved to Accomack Co., VA ca. 1642. Katherine was arrested but never went to trial for the killing of an Irish servant named Elinor.Instead she was pardoned. The family later moved to Rappahannock Co., VA where a daughter married Francis Stone, Jr. ca 1680.
Thomas had a brother named John who was transported to Accomack Co., VA in 1642 aboard the "Honour" by Captain William Harris.I am related to John's side of the family.
John's family moved to Isle of Wight Co., VA and around 1715 settled on land near Nottoway and Blackwater Rivers in NC.They later moved to Bute (now Franklin and Warren).
The Pannell, Calvert (my family -- now called Colbert) and the Bibby families of Franklin Co., NC all originated in Northamptonshire, England and lived in Accomack Co., VA before moving to Franklin. These three families have lived together for over 350 years, not including the time they lived together in Northamptonshire.
