Obit -- Greeley Tribune, 10/5/03 -- Virginia Spaedt Virginia Lee Spaedt, 77, of Greeley died Thursday, Oct. 2, at North Colorado Medical Center, Greeley.She was born July 22, 1926, in Big Springs, Neb., to John W. and Ruth Anna (Wilber) Pocock. Mrs. Spaedt lived most of her life in Weld County. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking cookies and occasional trips to Black Hawk and Central City. She loved her children and grandchildren.She was a member of Gospel Life Baptist Church in Evans. Survivors include her daughters, Jackie Armstrong of Washington and Paulette Dill of Greeley; sons, William Spaedt of Greeley, George Spaedt of Pierce, Charles Spaedt of Whitewater and Richard Honstein of Florida (sic); three sisters, Ada Perkins of Golden, Treva Buckingham of Arvada and Evelyn Honstein of Yuma, Ariz.; two brothers, John Pocock of Eaton and Tom Dannett of Greeley; 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Larry and Donna Sweigard of Greeley. Her parents, a sister, Betty Engel, and a granddaughter, Dana Spaedt, are deceased. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Gospel Light Baptist Church, 3927 Central St., Evans, CO 80620. Memorial gifts may be made to the church. Inurnment will be later in Big Springs. Northern Colorado Crematory, Greeley, is in charge of arrangements.
