William Henry Pappan, Jr., 79, resident of the Kaw City area, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, in Via Christi Oklahoma Regional Medical Center in Ponca City. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, in the Washunga Cemetery with Danny W. Cornish, minister of the Newkirk Church of Christ officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home until 9 p.m. on Thursday and on Friday until noon. Born May 24, 1924, in Pawhuska, he was the son of William Henry and Ruth (Maple) Pappan. He worked for the Southern California Edison Company as an electrician. He also owned and operated several businesses. Survivors include his wife, Jane Marie Havenstein Bennett Pappan; a stepson, Thomas P. Bennett of Phoenix; one sister, Colleen Wall of Oklahoma City; two stepgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller-Stahl Funeral Service, Newkirk.
