MASHPEE — Morris J. Percell, 98, died May 8, 2010, at Celebration Hospital in Kissimmee, Fla. He was a resident of Mashpee for more than 25 years and was a former member of the DOERS Club (retired men's club) of Cape Cod. He was also an avid golfer and tournament bridge player.
He was born in Moultrie, Ga., on Nov. 5, 1911, and left for New York City at age 16. He worked in Civil Service Positions, including the Department of Corrections for more than 30 years. He retired as a New York Supreme Court senior clerk.
Devoted husband of the late Louise C. (Carter) Percell. He leaves his devoted daughter Joan A. Rawlins and her husband Earl A. Rawlins of Kissimmee, Fla., granddaughters Joette Torres, Lolly Cheatham, Kimberly Pilgrim and Robin Duell. Also survived by six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He is son of the late Louis and Ruth Morris Percell and his late sister Doris Bell.
A funeral service will be held at the Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main St., Hyannis, on Saturday, May 15, at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Great Neck Cemetery, Mashpee.
