Have just seen this long-ago query and although you may already have it answered, let me partially do so. SARAH SMITH was a dau of Capt. Johnson Smith (1760 New Boston, NH-1857 Chatham Twp Argentueil Co, Quebec) and Martha Mills (1767-1850). Sarah's siblings were: Jane (marr Aaron Schagel to MI), Walter (marr Laura Fuller to Pontiac Co, Quebec), Samuel (marr Mary Smith who she is we have not concluded!! Samuel died young), Johnson Jr. (marr Arathusa Fuller), Elizabeth, [SARAH fits here], Daniel (marr Esther Dale), David (marr Mary Phillips), Mary (marr.??).
The other part of your question is the $64,000 one! Who WERE parents of Thomas Smith who married Elizabeth Parcher? Capt. Johnson Smith (above), son of Samuel of New Boston, NH, was grandson of a Lt. Thomas Smith (1688 Co Londonderry, Ireland-1768 New Boston, NH). Could the Thomas Smith, about whom you enquire, be perhaps a cousin but… descended from which Smith line? Perhaps(?) from Lt. Thomas's son, Reuben Smith, who post-Revolutionary War went to Maine and New Brunswick??
To indicate yet further inter-connection, Thomas & Elizabeth (Parcher) Smith were *supposed to* have been the parents of the Oliver Smith who married Aaron & Rachel Schagel's sister, Rachel Schagel; Oliver & Rachel a daughter, Lurena Smith, who married Rodney Smith of Buckingham, Quebec, son of Capt. Johnson Smith's brother & wife,James & Betsy (Mills) Smith!
Not only did Lurena marry a Smith but her sisters, Clarissa and Betsy Smith, also married Smiths—Clarissa a Wm Smith and Betsy a John Smith. Smiths were fond of Smiths!!
I really DO think their grandather, the Thomas Smith about whom you ask, IS related to all these other Smiths, but can somebody/anybody PLEASE put us out of our misery and tell us how??!!
See http://www.smithfamilypageshttp://www.smithfamilypages for lots more of the Smith family but with the Thomas of your query not yet placed!
