I am a Great Great Grand Daughter of James. He was the brother who went to Texas close to the time that Jesse did.Jesse is thought to have gone there in about 1841.Jesse died in 1848.His wife Martha is listed in the 1850 Harrison Co. Census along with their 5 youngest children. 3 other sons are listed separately with their households.
James is thought to have joined Jesse around 1845.He is listed in the 1850 census with his wife and children, but he didn't stay long moving to Gonzales Co where de died in 1857.
Wiley Jackson, James Williamson, and John D are the three sons of Jesse who are listed in separate households with their children in 1850.
There is also another Parchman listed, J.M. 22, b in MS along with wife S. 19, bornin Alabama.I'm not sure who this Parchman is, but I am sure that he is not a son of either Jesse or James.
All of James' children went with him to Gonzales Co and generally settled east and south of San Antonio.
Kenneth Witley who compiled Family Ties is a decendent of Elizabeth through her first marriage to James Amberson.Elizabeth was a younger sister of Jesse and James.
Aquilla who this chain kinda started with was a brother of Jesse, James and Elizabeth and is the same Aquilla who married Martha Dilworth who is being discussed in other postings in this forum.
Everything that Kenneth Whitley has in his book, which is quite extensive, agrees with what I have found independently, (nowhere near as much) and with what L. Gerald Parchman put together back in the 1970's.L. Gerald Parchman published a 6 page summary of his complilation of material called "The Parchman Family Tree" which is included in Whitley's book.
