Lewis Parham was born abt. 1704 in Surry Co., VA. and died Bet. 21 January - 23 February 1761 in Prince George or Dinwiddie Co., VA.He married Sarah Lanier about 1730.Not sure when Sarah was born, but she was born in Brunswick Co., VA. and she died between 20 Aug 1799 and the 25 Feb 1805.
Lewis Parham was the son of Ephraim Parham and Frances.
In his will Ephraim Parham "I give to my son Lewis Parham my plantation on the north side of Merherin River 180 acres being on Reedy Branch (Creek) the upper half when 20 years old.Also cows, etc....."Ephraim Parham's will wwas signed April 7, 1726 and proved June 15, 1726 in Surry Co., VA. Part 2, page 642.Lewis Parham was not yet 20 years old when his father, Ephraim Parham made his will.

According to the Pegram Family History, Edward Pegram was married 1st to Mary Lyle, who died June 30, 1779, and then, Mrs. Ann Harper Parham, who died Sept 18, 1814;
Nicholas Parham son of Ephraim Parham died before reaching age 21 and unmarried, leaving no heirs.The land Nicholas inherited from his father than reverted to the remaining heirs, Betsey (Parham) Lanier, Thomas Parham and Joan Parham.These three heirs petitioned the courts in Sussex Co., Va. for their share of the land in 1887.

Thomas Parham married Elizabeth Parham Batte, Natives of Dinwiddie Co., Virginia where they lived many years after marriage.They then moved to Brunswick Co., Va.Thomas died in Brunswick Co. in 1857 at the age of 93 years.Elizabeth died a few years before.
Thomas was Justice of the Peace for some time, was deputy sheriff of Petersburg and was a successful africulturist.His father Ephraim Parham, was of English descent and was amont the early colonists of Virginia.He passed his first days in that state.Elizabeth Parham Batte was the daughter of William Batte who was of English descent and wasa wealthy farmer of Prince George Co., Virginia.He died in that State.Thomas and Elizabeth Parham had 13 children.Three of their sons were doctors.Dr. Thomas Parham, Dr. William Parham and Dr. E. H. M. Parham.William and Thomas were successful Doctors, and gratuates of the University of Pennsylvania.The former lived in Dallas Co., Ark.Thomas and E. H. M. were the only two to come west.Dr. William Parham died in Virginia.Dr. E. H. M. Parham married Tabitha Ann Barner a native of Brunswick Co., Va. in 1843.She was the daughter of John and Sarah Barner.
