Hi Nancy P. I'm Gemma C. from Toronto Canada. My Mother is a Parisi. Here is as much as I can tell uw/o getting too confusing.Giovanni Parisi was my great-granddad, and was in Cervaro. No one can remember where he came from or how he came to be in Cervaro, but he was the onlyParisi in town.Lucky for us -- right!!My mom says that she recalls talk that it was very likely Sicily.Having gone thru all the other postings though -- none quite fit. Anyhow, Giovanni married Mariella Marandola -- possibly from Cervaro - not sure, and the had 2 sons.ANTONIO(aprox. 1870-1950)- married aCarminella? They had Giuseppe, Flora, Eleanora, Concetta, Lucia, Rosina, Maria Luisa, Arcangel and Emilio -- not necessarily in that order. ANGELO, (my gran) aprox 1880-1945, married 1st - Concetta? and had Antonia (died aprox 8 yrs ago), adopted Armando Artenosi (died 10 yrs ago), and then Concetta and a new baby died in childbirth.The2nd marriage to my grandmother - PasquaRosa produced: Domenico (just died befor X-mas) Anna (my mom), Giovanna, Giuseppina, Renato and Concetta who died age 17yrs old/paralyzed from infancy.
Now, when my grand father was aprox. 10 yrs old his father - great grandfrather Giovanni-died.When the 2 brothers were a bit older, and with a cousin, the 3 of them came to the States and worked either on the rail lines or subway lines.Mygrandfather eventually settled back with grandma PasquaRosa in her mountain hamlet of 'la Radicoza' which belongings to the town of San Vittore del Lazio. This townis basically the next hill top over from Cervaro. Now his brother, great uncle Antonio apparently went back and forth between the states and Cervaro. This is why I am not sure if he married a girl from that town or someone he met in U.S. Apparently allor most of my aunts/uncles were born in the states and then eventually he moved the whole family back to Cervaro. Some how he ended back on this side of the ocean, and I knowthat several of the girls, my aunt Concetta - still alive, immigratedand took care of him -- as he died early 1950's -- here I believe in the Toronto, Ontario area. Now I'll have to get in touch with Aunt Connie, and see if I can get more info. about great-granddad Giovanni.
Hope this helps and pass on any thing you mayhave as I am new to the net and did't realize there was already a site for 'Parisi'.Hope to hear soon, bye for now.
