Note:The above Parkers can all be found on the books os the Anderson Boggan Store in 1837 Butler Co., AL.Ben, Sr., Ben Jr., & Eldridge Parker are shown with land tracts in 1837, Butler Co., AL. Ben, Jr. was in the Militia in 1833 in the Indian uprisings, David Parker had a tract of land in 1836, but, have no other record of him.Ben, Sr. and Starling estab a store in Butler Co., AL in 1820.Noah Parker Sr. was Baptist Minister of Brookln Bapt Church in 1821 in Butler Co., AL.There are several Parkers living in Butler Co in the 1830's, one Samuel was an Indian, along with his brother (unk). When Anderson Boggan moved his store to Jasper Co., MS in about 1845, many of the people that patronized his store in Butler Co, moved to Jasper Co., with him, including Benjamin Parker, Jr. and Walter Eldridge Parker.
In September 1866 the State of MS conducted a Census of Jasper Co., MS.Eldridge Parker and his family was not on that Census, nor was Benjamin Parker, Jr.However, Ben's wife, Catherine, was on it, listed as head of household.Ben is on the 1870 Census, with the family in Jasper Co.
It is now my personal opinion, that in 1866, Eldridge & Ben traveled over to Calhoun Co., AR to visit with their three brothers living in that county. Also, living in Monroe, Ouachita Co., LA is the Mother's family of all the above mentioned children.Calhoun Co. is about 40 mi NW of Monroe Co., LA, traveling up the Ouachita River.Eldridge was in Nacogdoches Co., TX in 1868.His son, Grannison, did show up later, and was in the 1880 Census, but, we know that he was there in 1874, when he bought land there.
Census Records of Butler Co., AL, Union Co., AL, and Jasper county, MS were used, along with marriage records of Calhoun & Union Co. AR, and cemetery records of Calhoun Co., AR up to about 1940.
Any help with the above will be appreciated. Most happy to share with you all.
