Andy:I'm in Mt. Juliet, TN just outside of Nashville and am currently trying to pull together ALL the Parmans in Middle TN following the Civil War.John, b.1807, and his younger children plus Daniel, Emanuel and Samuel Washington (all veterans of the Civil War) came to Williamson Co and then into Davidson County from Greene Co. TN.They are, of course, descendents of Giles Franklyn Parman of PA.I can probably help you with the Parman line from the 1700's and sure hope you can give me a hand with some of the local Parmans.I would like to know who your grandfather and perhaps g grandfather were. Also any Uncles, Aunts, Cousins etc.
My connection is thru my husband, Willard, who is a grandson of Harry B. s/o Samuel Washington s/o John s/o Emanuel s/o Giles Franklyn b. 1758 Wyoming Valley, PA? Thus far I have not found any evidence he was actually born in PA.Have found him as a land owner in 1769.
Please contact me, there are several "missing" Parmans after the 1880 census.
