Carol,
Actually, I remembered my Cooke line incorrectly. I wrote earlier I descend from Francis, Jacob, Caleb and Paul. The correction is; Francis, Jacob, Caleb, John, Paul.
Ann Cook is the younger sister of John (not Paul), so at least I stayed in the right genereation. Ann Cook married James Johnson in 1716/17. One of their children was James Johnson, Jr. Jr married Jane Harris in 1740.Jane Harris is not the sister of John Cook, my ancestor, but would be the wife of his nephew James Johnson, Jr.
My John Cook married an Elizabeth Sears. THey had a son named Paul. Paul would then be the nephew of Ann Cook.
My research on the Johnsons goes back to the immigrant father (1600's) but does not get too far into the 1800's.
Since it's focused on the Parmele's who migrated from CT to VT to Canada and CA, I don't follow any lines to Michigan.
My research is primarily colonial and is between 1600-1816.
I'm sorry I don't recognize the name of Ransom Johnson or have data for you.
We are in the same decade. I have two children, graduated from college and are in business. One is in SF and the other Boston. I'm in CT. You can contact me privately at [email protected].
Hope this helps.
Michele
