It was great to hear from you.We are still having the Paschen reunion -- it was here at our home in NW Indiana this July.None of Albert's family have attended the last few years. It would be great if some of youwould come next year. The reunion is going to die out in the next few yers if there is no new blood.
I looked on the map for Strelitz. It is about 150 km. from the Scherwin area where our Paschens lived.Close enough that it is possible, but not close enough that it is highly likely.I don't know how to try to make the connection. As I recall, our earliest record was a Paschen who was a postal clerk in Schwerin. If the Paschen genealogist at Strelitz could find a church record that indicates any Paschen went west toward Schwerin, that would be a help.
I know nothing about German migration patterns during that period. It might make sense to someone who does. This is the nearest Paschen, geograhpically, that I have ever heard of.It would be very nice to have someone over there working on this -- someone who speaks the language and understands the local history.
I don't know enough about the local history and movements of people in the area.
If i could be of any help in getting a working relationship going with the German (potential) relative, please let me know.I have copies of a lot of census and church records for the villages where our Paschens lived, in case those could be helpful.
