I am trying to track down anyone with info on a couple of Pasley (Parsley in 1860 census, Passley in 1870) families that came from Kentucky, Missouri and in about 1855 moved on into Kansas. From about 1855 on they were located in Leavenworth Co., Jackson Co., and Shawnee County Kansas as far as I can tell.
I found one family in the 1860 and 1870 census, and the other in the 1870 and 1880 census. In 1870 the two families are in adjacent households in the census records (1870 Jackson Co., KS, Douglas Twp)
One family is as follows: 1860 Leavenworth Co., Kansas census:
John D. Parsley age 44 b. Ky Martha 40 Ky Martha 18 Ky William 16 Ky John 14 Ky Sarah 12 Missouri Ellen 12 Mo Hannah 10 Mo Lafayette 7 Mo Margaret 5 Kansas Caroline 3 Ks Columbia (Columbus)1 Ks
Other children in 1870 Jackson Co., KS census for John and Martha were listed as: Leucretus 8 KS and Clinton B. 6 Ks.
The second family in 1870 Leavenworth Co., KS census:
William T. Passley 44 KY Mary A. 38 IN Henrietta 19 MO Ann E. 15 MO David L. 12 KS Martha E. 12 KS Mary A. 9 KS Cordelia 6 KS John W. 2 KS
Other children listed in 1880 Topeka, Shawnee Co., KS census for William and Mary were:
Geo. W. 8 KS Isaiah W. 6 KS
I am confident that these two families are related but I can't seem to locate William Pasley family in the 1860 Census records where they should be, and I can't locate the John Pasley family in 1850.
If anyone has any additional information on either of these families please contact me.Thanks.
