I am looking for the connection between the Passwater families of De and Indiana to the Mullinix families of same states. Both families intermarried with Coverdales. In the 1840 census, Noblesville, Hamilton, IN, are listed within one page of each other my Israel Mullinix (Mulnix) and wife, Manlove (Manliff) Passwater, and Mullinix Passwater. The latter is listed in the Hamilton County probate as Mullinise, Mullinix, and Mulnix Passwater. His wife, I assume, Margaret Passwater and William Dorrah posted bond as they were involved in the settlement of the estate. I have yet to find the final page on that settlement. In the 1850, Wayne Twp, Hamilton, In census I find a Margaret Passwater, age 63, now living with a John Dorrah and wife and perhaps a sister. In the previous page a Jackson Coverdale, age 11, is living with a Passwater family. What I'm seeing is a group of closely related people that my Israel Mullinix seemed to often live near. He also was from Delaware but he doesn't fit the info of other Mullinix named Israel.Lots of explanation here, I'm sorry to be lengthy. Can you tell me what you know of the intermarryings of these families and their migrations from and to Indiana.I would appreciate any help you can give me, especially if you have something on Mulnix/ Mulllinix Passwater. He died 1840 -41. Bonds were posted in Sep 1841.
Thank you, Lois Matheson Please feel free to email me directly.
