PATENAUDE reunion - Sept 2001
DATES : September 28, 29 and 30, 2001 in the Quebec City area (Canada).
VENUE : Hotel des Gouverneurs, 3030 boulevard Laurier, Sainte-Foy (Québec) Canada G1R 5A8
FRIDAY EVENING: Registration.
SATURDAY MORNING: Registration for those who didn't register on Friday evening.
The Quebec National Archives are open on Saturday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.It is a 5 minute drive from the Hotel des Gouverneurs, Sainte-Foy.Lots of free parking.
SATURDAY AFTERNOON Possible visit to the Ile d'Orléans (about a half hour drive from the hotel) where Nicolas and Marguerite lived from 1665 on; Visit to the "Old Jesuits House" in Sillery; Nicolas farmed a tract of land right next to the Old Jesuits Houseearly in his marriage (this is at most 5 minutes from the hotel); He lived there about 4 years, and his sons Pierre and Jean were born there; Do the walking tour of Old Quebec to take in all that Old World charm that permeates the city. It oozes history and just strolling along its streets is a trip in the past.The architecture is very interesting; Guided tours can be arranged for the above activities.
SATURDAY EVENING BANQUET : September 29, 2001 banquet will be held in the ballroom at the Hôtel des Gouverneurs, Sainte-Foy.
SUNDAY : A commemorative Sunday mass will be held at 11:30 on September 30, 2001 at the Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Québec, the very parish where Nicolas and Marguerite were married on 30 October 1651.Fathers Gilbert and Gerard Patenaude will be on hand for the celebration as well.
