Seatown is actualy a part of Avoch. Even though Avoch is only a tiny village, Seatown was the name given to the area closest to the sea in the old village where the fishermen lived.
Avoch was a very close knit community and most marriages were within the village, so it wouldn't surprise me if there was some form of distant family connection.
When I was a boy growing up in the village, I remember an old man called Joseph Macintosh, whose nickname (or by-name was Gow). His grand daughter was in my class at school. So I'd imagine he is a descendant of the Joseph you mention.
Incidentally, my father's name was Donald Patience and he was born in 1922 - exactly 100 years after your g-g-grandfather was born.
Sorry I can't be of more specific help. You might want to visit www.avoch.org which is the website of the Avoch Heritage Association. I'm sure they would have some useful info about tracing relatives etc.
