It seems John and Henrietta moved back and forth between the U.S and England several times. The John and Henrietta I found arrived in NY on the Alaska on March 14, 1888 but without any children. On Sept 12, 1894 they arrived on the Majestic in NY with their children. On Sept 4, 1901 Henrietta with four of her children arrived in NY on the Majestic again and they were headed to Lackawanna where her husband was.
The 1920 census of Detroit, MI shows a John 51 and Henrietta 53 with daughter Charlotte Pacena 26 (who also arrived in 1901 on the Majestic but was not listed with her mother).
The 1901 England census has John, Henrietta and family living in Durham. Interestingly it has Henrietta and several of the children born in Lackawanna, PA.
The family can probably found in other records with enough research, but to answer your question about who John's father was I suggest trying to get his obituary and death certificate. Both should have his parents and his obit may have any surviving siblings. The PA Dept of Health would have the death certificate. Check with the Genealogical Research Society of Northeast Pennsylvania in Olyphant, Lackawanna Historical Society and Scranton Family History Center to see if they can help you with the obit. The cemetery he is buried in may have something in their burial records that might be helpful.
