Laura Eleanor Patton, 87, of Limestone, Washington Co
TN, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday at Holston
Valley Medical Center.
She retired from Greene Valley Developmental Center.
She was born on April 13, 1925, and was of the Baptist Faith.
She loved gospel music, quilting, her six great-grand-
children, her dog Inkey, and watching Tiger Woods play
She was affectionately known as 'Sam' and will be sadly
missed by all who knew her. She was a special person.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur J. D.
Patton; one son, Jimmy Patton Sr.; two grandsons, Jimmy
Patton Jr. and Andrew Swift; a daughter, Janice Marie
Patton; son-in-law, Boyd Thomason; parents, Alger and
Zelphia Hensley; three brothers, Deadrick Hensley, Herbert
Hensley, and Eulice Hensley; and three sisters, Pearl
Hensley, Dorothy Colyer, and Iva Miller.
Survivors include her five children, Rita Perizolli, Betty and
Jackie Weems, Mildred Stacy, Rebecca Thomason, and Bob
and Robin Patton; her grandchildren, Victor, Jeffrey and
Ginger Shelton, Holly Thomason, Sarah Thomason,
Rebecca Swift, Anthony and Denise Gregg, Angie Smith,
and Jordan Ottinger; her great-grandchildren, Madison
Shelton, James Christian Freshour, Kaleb and Hunter
Gregg, and Christopher Patton; her identical twin sister,
Sarah Elizabeth Hensley, sisters, Millie Morelock and Effie
Carmack; her brother and sisters-in-law, J. B. and Louise
Hensley, and Edna Brown and a very special brother-in-law
Carroll Brown, who was always there for her; several nieces
and nephews, including a special nephew, Paul Winchester;
and a special friend and neighbor, Mary Charlton.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m., Friday,
December 14, 2012, at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation
The funeral service will follow visitation at 7 p.m., in Jeffers
Funeral Chapel downtown. The Rev. Paul Winchester will
