It's good to meet a Bray researcher close to myPatton's area. I'm descended from William Patton and Mary Willson Edgar of Jefferson and Franklin co.s TN and Jackson Co AL. Their daughter Jane, b, in the late 1790s in Jefferson, married William Bray in Franklin before 1820. I know very little about Jane. My William Patton was son of Samuel of Cabarrus Co NC. Mary was daughter of George Edgar Jr of Western VA and Jefferson Co.TN and his wife Isabella Blackburn ( dau of Andrew) .William and Mary Patton's daughyer Isabella Blackburn Patton married Abner Womack. They settled briefly in Marion Co TN, then Jackson Co AL where they both died. I have a transcript of a document from the estate of Wm. Patton Jr. ,dec'd dividing his estate among his surviving siblings, including Jane Bray. It reads in full

I think William possibly participated in the Mexican War and maybe died as a result.
