Hello, Wynell...
I don't know if you've already got your answer to this or if i am even mentioning a side of the family that you are not interested in, but I'll risk it :)...
Anton Joseph Pauler came from Austria (Vienna, I've heard?) and first married Ida Grob, eventually settled in Ohio, and had several children. He was a (Baptist?) minister.
He then divorced Ida (my great-grandmother), moved to Kansas, and remarried. Some of the children went with him...my grandfather, John Joseph, Sr., stayed with Ida in Ohio. Some of his brothers, Francis (for sure), Anton?, Paul?, ect... I think moved to Kansas (to Emporia).Apparently there was a a bit of contention between those who stayed with Ida in Ohio and those who left to go to Kansas with Anton J.
He had more children with his second wife (I'll have to look up her name).I believe some of those children moved down to Texas.
So, to sum it up, there are the Ohio Paulers, the Kansas Paulers (I now live in a suburbs of Kansas City, KS...so I guess I could be considered one...I was born in Ohio, tho), and then you Texan Paulers (maybe you can clarify how your line got to Texas?)
Hope this helps!
