Florence Juul was born on September 22, 1908, in Viborg, South Dakota to Charles and Marie Petersen Paulsen. She grew up Viborg and attended country school there. The family later moved to Irene, South Dakota to run a café. Before her marriage, Florence worked in the family café. On August 27, 1938 she and Rasmus C. Juul were married in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Rasmus worked for the Telephone Company and they travel through out Iowa and Minnesota. In 1953, they moved to Slayton, Minnesota and made it their home. On August 29, 2007, Florence became a resident of the Golden Living Center-Slayton and passed away there on October 19, 2007, at the age of 99. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Slayton. Florence enjoyed sewing, crocheting, bird watching, gardening, and flowers.
Survivors include one daughter Darlene Knakmuhs, Slayton, MN.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Rasmus; and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held at United Methodist Church in Slayton, MN on Monday, October 22, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Gwen Bohlke officiating. The organist was Janet Voges with special music by Glen Kluis. The pallbearers were Dean Ackerman, Joshua Ackerman, Glen Kluis, and Hub Sandman. Interment at Slayton Memorial Gardens, Slayton, MN.
