Hello!Sorry I've taken so long to respond.I talked with my grandfather over the weekend and he said my great-grandpa James was married to Hazel Vanzant and Gladys Wagner (sp?).
My dad and I also went to the Bainbridge cemetary where James M. is buried. There were actually quite a few buried there such as my great-grandpa James and Hazel and Gladys.Mary Elizabeth was also buried there. If I'm not mistaken I think we saw some Pensyl family as well.
We then went to the cemetary where Mary Elizabeths parents are buried. There stone was in perfect condition.I think it was granite.
Grandpa lives on one of the original farms that the Shiptons bought their three kids. (As a matter of fact he showed me where James M. had carved his initials in the barn).Down the road is the farm that the Redkey family owned.Between the two is a cemetary with quite a few Redkeys but no Adam.I was so disappointed. If James M.'s mom died during childbirth wouldn't you assume it was around where James was adopted?I was so hoping to find her grave in one of those cemetaries. Two of them are so old that the newest stone was from the late 1800's.The cool thing is that my dad has driven past the cemetary where Mary E.'s parents are buried and never knew it was there. It took us forever to find it.We had to ask permission to trespass on someones property to reach it.
Keep in touch, Andrea
P.S. Did you receive the email I sent you about no adoption records for James M.
