Some of our DNA MATCHES in our ROGERS group have now matched PEACOCKS who do not match other PEACOCK surnames but do match all our ROGERS. We are a failry large group of ROGERS with same matching DNA but for the other surnames who also match us, like OWENS, WALKER, and PEACOCK.We believe that they are ROGERS too but were probablyadopted by those other surname groups of OWENS, WALKER or PEACOCK.
My own ROGERS in Montgomery Co. NC were neighbors of WALKERS and we know OWENS in Humphreys Co. TN had grandchildren by name of ROGERS.The NATHAN ROGERS who md. NANCY PEACOCK is of interest to us as we'd like to know if they too were out of ANSON CO. NC region and thus the same as the NATHAN ROGERS in ROWAN CO. NC and DAVIDSON Co. NC ?
I have this on a NATHAN ROGERS of ROWAN CO. NC and believe this might be the NATHAN ROGERS who md. NANCY PEACOCK and lived in Rowan Co. NC and later lived in Davidson Co. NC.Can someone tell me more on this NATHAN ROGERS and is he the one with the wife named NANCY PEACOCK ?We know our ROGERS also were in Rowan co. NC as well as being in Anson and Montgomery Co. NC earlier. My own direct line stayed in Montgomery Co. NC until 1823 and then moved to Carroll Co. TN, but my William L. Rogers brother ZACHARIAH ROGERS is found in Rowan co. NC and left a will dated 1837 and named his Samuel Rogers as heir to the plantation. If Samuel died without leaving heirs, then ALLEN ROGERS son of RANDEL ROGERS would inherit the plantation at that time.Interesting is that there are NATHAN ROGERS and RANDEL ROGERS living in DAVIDSON Co. NC in the 1830's supposedly per REV WAR PENSION record of this RANDEL ROGERS.Here are my records on Nathan Rogers and Randel Rogers of Rowan and Davidson Co's NC.- Tina
"Deed of 1805 Rowan Co. NC in name of seller ELIZABETH ROGERS to CHRISTOPHER STOKES/ STOAKES, for the 25 acres she sold to Stoakes/ Stokes was on East side of Bull Mountain Ridge."
"The witnesses to this 1805 ROWAN CO. NC Deed were JOHN DAVIS and NATHAN ROGERS. Can someone please tell me who ELIZABETH and NATHAN ROGERS are and relationships to other ROGERS in that area. Also who is JOHN DAVIS the other witness who signed this 1805 deed ?"
ELIZABETH ROGERS, RICHARD ROGERS and an ALLEN ROGERS are on the 1800 Rowan Co. NC Census, if I recall.
As for the RANDEL ROGERS listed on the 1837 Rowan Co. NC Will of our ZACHARIAH ROGERS we have this pertaining to a RANDEL ROGERS whose pension I suppose was listed being from DAVIDSON Co. NC by way of Sussex Co. VA to Rowan co. NC then to DAVIDSON Co. NC.
VA PENSIONS of REV. WAR SOLDIERS :
