Captain or Colonel Charles M. Pearre - South Taylor County Texas
Reference a 2006 post by a Mr. Tom Oliver (on another Pearre message board) regarding pronunciation of the Pearre surname:
"Likely French Huguenot, and "Pear - Ree" accoding to my grandmother, Ann Mitchell, who grew up on the ranch of "Colonel" Charles M. Pearre near Buffalo Gap, Texas in the 1880s."
My great Grandparents, Jesse P. and Sarah E. Jackson, nee Anderson, purchased half of the Pearre Ranch. This land was then passed down to my Grandfather, Archie Dean Jackson and his wife Thelma, nee Robinson.
I have many fond memories of the Ranch and would enjoy corresponding with anyone who has more information on this branch of the Pearre family. I'd also love to hear from Mr. Tom Oliver, if he still monitors the message board, regarding his Grandmother, Ann Mitchell.
