Many thanks for your help.I have at present got a researcher working on my Pearse line in London.I had got information he found in 'Gentleman' magazine that 'our George' lived at 46 Marsham St and his office was at 5 Regent St. This I had noted several years ago (P O Directory 1846) but wasn't sure it was 'our' GeorgeHe was a surgeon to the Metropolitan Police and also Registrar of Births and Deaths.
George jnr was listed in Medical Directory as at 10 Regent St until 1949 then he appears at 5 Regent St.so yes he must be a son of 'our' George as he (George jnr)became Surgeon to Metropolitan Police. Also William Edwin Grindley Pearse who appears in 1849 as living at 46 Marsham St and is then Registrar of Births and Deaths.Another son!!
My gr gr grandfather Henry Lloyd Pearse showed his father as deceased on his marriage certificate in 1851.
Henry Lloyd Pearse (10 Binfield Rd Clapham) Married Marion James and they had the following children. Mary Marion Pearse bn 4 March 1852 at Peckham Surrey- never married
Harold Henry Pearse bn 7 January 1854 in Peckham Surrey - was sent to train as a Doctor but could not cope with the 'blood and guts'and was sent to the colonies as a 'remittance man' paid to stay out there and never to return.
Nina Phyllis Pearse bn 19 April 1856 Married George James Poston in 1878.Lived Bishopford House in Bishopsford Rd Mitcham. Two sons - William James Lloyd Poston Guy Poston.
Harold Henry Married Phoebe Ball in Greytown NZ and died at only age 40 of TB. Children Phyllis Poebe Pearse Harold LLoyd Pearse May Pearse Francis Pearse Leonard Pearse.
The Pearse family name still lives on in NZ with my brother having two sons and 2 of my cousins having sons as well.
I know nothing more of 'our' George - whom he married - what other children he had!!
