I am a direct descendent of the Peddle's in Bishop's Cove.My grandmother on my mother's side was a Peddle of Bishop's Cove.I've been able to get back as far as Peter Peddle & Sarah (maiden name unknown). They were married abt. Dec. 26, 1823 (St. Paul's Anglican Church Record Hrb. Grace). This would put both their dates of birth around 1800.From what I've been able to dig up, they had four children (I'm sure there was more), Elijah, Francis, John & George.I'm unable to get beyond this.In Eric Martin Gosse's book "The Settling Of Spaniard's Bay", on page -15- he mentions a Francis Peddle registering plantation #36 in 1775.It sounds like he may be one of the founding father's of the Peddle family in Bishop's Cove.
Have you anything on Peter & Sarah Peddle?I would be very interested in viewing the data you have collected. As stated previously, I'm a direct descendent of the Peddle's of Bishop's Cove and no doubt we are all descendents of the same Peddle's.Any help would be appreciated.I'm more than willing to share information.
