Looks like we're cousins!!!:-)Seriously, I'd bet you're correct in saying that Malinda's father was "probably" Green Berry PATTERSON (that's how it is listed in the records, and not Greenberry).Green was a son of William C. PATTERSON and William C. was my great-great-greatgrandfather who was married to (1) Cynthia NAYLOR and then (2) Caroline MAINARD.William's children were:
1.Samuel, ca 1834 2.Mary A, ca 1836 3.Saluda (female) 4.William Henry Harrison (06-22-1841) who is my direct line. 5.John, ca 1843 6.Green Berry, ca 1845 7.Schiler Asbury, ca 1850 8.Mariah Carolina, ca 1852 9.Joseph W., ca 1855
William, John, and Green were supposed to have been born in TN since the 1850 Surry County census listed their birth places as TN.William and family were not on the NC census of 1840, so that is probably right.
Would love to share your data on the PEELE lines. There are definitely a lot of PEELE descendants in the Surry County area.My treks in the cemeteries have proved that.:-)
My e-mail is:email@example.comSend me your E-mail and I'll send you what I have on my PATTERSON lines (from my mother).
I also have a lot of WHITAKER ancestors in Surry as well. There is an Allie WHITAKER who was the sister of my grandmother Julila WHITAKER (Julila married Escar PATTERSON, and they are my maternal grandparents).Allie married a Chester PEELE and I presume it was in Surry County, but not sure.Might they be related to you?
BTW, there is the annual PATTERSON reunion in Surry County across from the Copeland elementary School on the 3rd Sunday in October.Look forward to hearing more from you!(PS:I'm not a professional genie looking to publish anything, just trying to get data on the relatives for my children).
