Jim, Yes I have appox birth dates for both and would you believe they are about the same dates. The Jesse Evans that went to Missouri was born ca. 1751 and died 29 July 1843 in Gasconade County MO. not Osage Co. as I stated before.
He married Elizabeth Beckenridge abt 1775 in Wythe Co. He left Wythe Co. about 1815 for Missouri. So it would be this Evans that is on the 1810 census in Wythe Co. Seem that this Jesse could be the brother of Sarah (Evans) Peery, BUT the other Jesse Evans could also be her brother.
The second Jesse Evans of Tazewell Co. which came from Wythe Co., was born ca. 1750 in Albemarle Co. Va., which Amherst County was taken from in 1761. The last record of this Jesse in Amherst Co. is 29 Feb 1772, and when the Jesse's start showing up in Wythe Co. it is about the same time for both of them.
And from what I can find out about them, they both had father's named John Evans.
The second Jesse Evans is believed to have married about 1768 in Va. to Mary "Molly" Joslin and after the indians killed part of his family in Tazewell Co. Jesse and his wife sons Daniel, Robert and daughter Mary and his father John went to Davidson Co. TN., he shows up in the Davidson Co. Tn. court records in 1784, where Mary "Molly" Joslin had two brother living.
So it is possible that this second Jesse Evans would be Sarah (Evans) Peery's brother to.
This Evans family is really hard to research. And I am trying everything I can think of to connect them up.
