MADAWASKA, Maine - Gerald J. "Gerry" Pelletier, 71, passed away June 9, 2010, at a Madawaska health care facility. Gerry was born Aug. 25, 1938, in Madawaska, the son of Irene and Elude Deprey. His biological father, Raoul Pelletier, died when Gerry was 6 years old. Gerry served his church and community for many years as a fourth degree member of Madawaska Knights of Columbus, Council No. 2638. He also joined the U.S. Army and served his country in Germany from 1957 to 1959. Gerry was recalled back to the service for one more year during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and coin collector, as well as a snowmobile enthusiast. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family. Gerry is survived by loving wife, Claudette Ouellette Pelletier; his beloved son, David Pelletier; one brother, Roland "Tats" Pelletier and his wife, Carlene, all of Madawaska; and two nephews, Darell Pelletier and his wife, Odette, and their children of Caribou, and Bruce Pelletier and his wife, Stacey, and their children of Madawaska. Friends and family may offer their condolences to his family 9 a.m. until the time of service 10 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Interment will be held at a later date at Caribou Veterans Cemetery.
