I have spent several months poring over the actual church records for Sorel to come to the conclusion that the marriage of Pierre Peloquin and Marguerite Jolys was never recorded. After a long process of elimination (the Pierre Peloquin born to Pierre Peloquin and Marie-Rose Hus in 1759 died in December 1760!), I came to the conclusion that my ancestor who married Marguerite Jolys was the son of Charles Peloquin and Elisabeth (Isabelle) Salvail, born in Sorel on July 23, 1762. This was confirmed by a marriage record in which one of Pierre & Marguerite's daughters married the grandson of Charles and Elisabeth. In that record, they are said to be FIRST cousins, so Pierre's father has to be Charles. As for Marguerite, due to the choice of names and godparents, it is fairly clear that she was the daughter of Antoine Joly dit Dolbec and Marie Jeanne Blet dit Gazaille. The PRDH also confirms my conclusions. I have fairly extensive information on this line, should you need more.
Hope this helps.
