Mrs. Almeda M. Pelter, 86, Presbyterian Home, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Bellwood, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, Nov. 30, 1997, at Bon Secours-Holy Family Hospital emergency room. She was born Oct. 26, 1911, in Juniata, the daughter of Frank I. and Esther C. (Nearhoof) Craine.She married Howard E. Pelter May 19, 1932, in Bellwood.He died April 16, 1988. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Antis Township, where she served as church treasurer for 20 years. Mrs. Pelter was formerly employed as a clerk by Lugg and Edmonds Department Store, Tyrone. She was a 1930 graduate of Bellwood High School and a graduate of Zeth Business College, Altoona. She was a past worthy matron of Tyrone Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a son, Earl H. Pelter, who died Aug. 6, 1992. Friends will received from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood.
