My family for at least five generations are buired in St Breock church yard. My father his grandparents and greats. we visit the graves and try to keep them tidy, difficult as I live in the midlands a good 250 miles.I am trying to keep up family traditions, my brother, father and other male decendants all carry one of the following names; James, Andrew or William. One of our greats wife was called Grace. As with family tradition my son was christened at St Breaock in Oct 1999. He is a South but no other Penhaligons in our line have boys, and I want my children to continue to visit Cornwall and feel proud of their roots. I am considering reverting back to my maiden name, my husband is a bit put out, so I may have to conceed and become a Penhaligon-South!
I am starting to trace the family tree and as I work in a library with a geneology department I am hoping to be able to find the materail I need. My fathers faher was James penhaligon, his father was William, as was his father. It apperars that they lived in Bodmin at some time. I will be checking the census.
