Apr 1909 in Dairy Place, Scotland.Children of Alexander Penman and Agnes Morris: -Alexander, came to U.S. and returned to Scotland; d. 1890 at Halbeath, Fife. -David, b. 1840 - coal miner; d. 29 Sep 1920 at Muir Road, Townshill, Scotland; m. Barbara Wilson. -William, came to U.S. and returned to Scotland; m. married Mary Nesbit. -John Morris, b. 17 Aug 1842 in Dunfermline, Scotland; d. 3 Jun 1930 Punxsutawny, PA; m. Margaret Nesbit.She b. 8 Feb 1846 Dunfermline; d. 17 Nov 1896 at Punxsutawney. They came to the U.S. about 1870-72. -Helen, lived in Scotland; m. -- Hunter.
This info was given to me many years ago by some Penmans who lived in Concord, CA, I believe the name was Edward Penman.They had listed their source as Mabel Rath, who lived in Sykesville PA (Jefferson county).
A lot of the info on these Penmans seemed to coincide with mine, but have never made a connection.My Penmans (David, b. ca 1803,m. Jennie Duncan; and son David, b. 21 Feb 1847, county Fife; m. Hannah Williams in PA) came to the U.S. in 1866 and lived in Mercer county, PA., then to Iowa, then to Oregon.They've been a difficult bunch to trace.
