Sorry Teri, I apparently haven't been too this forum in some time and I didn't see your post.
I would be interested in Elizabeth's daughter as well since Lewis was my great grandfather Joseph's brother! I have wondered what had became of them-and the Wehrhans as well-Elizabeth's sister married Nelson Wehrhan.
I don't really know very much about Stedman's (Iowa's spelling)parents other than several women have been said to have been his mother. His father was Everard. A doctor, if I remember correctly. His mother was Ann Dalbey, daughter of Nathan Dalbey. She came west as well with her then husband, William Ball. They may have came with Mary and Stedman although I have never read that they did. It isn't certain where Ann is buried; either in Ohio or in an unmarked grave in the Strawn Cemetery, Fayette Twp., Linn Co., Iowa. (Joseph Strawn donated the land for this cemetery-the first white man in Fayette Twp.-and Mary Strawn's brother. Another brother, James, also came here a few years later after having lived in IL for a time.)
I hope this helps. If I can be of further help, please let me know. Perhaps we can share a bit so I know what became of some more of my Penrose family!
