It sounds like we have more in common than you think. Check the 1880 US census, Moriah, Essex, NY. Frank & Lydia and kids are there with William Perkett, my great grandfather. Lily (1880-1897) is buried in the same grave as my great great grandparents,Frank Perkett & Hattie Baker. William married a short time later Cora Groff from Moriah. William's death certificate names Frank Perkett Sr. (1826-1897 & Hattie Baker (1829-1894) as his parents. I suspect your Frank is William's half brother. Hattie Baker may have been Native American, possibly explaining why Frank doesn't claim William as brother on the census (or it could have been the census taker.) The problem is that there are 5 generations with Frank/Francois Paquet/Perkett, your Frank being the 5th generation. This doesn't include nephews etc. (They were a very Catholic family!) My question regarding Frank Sr. is that NYS did not have his death certificate, while they had Hattie Baker's. An Essex County Republican obituary mentioned that Frank Sr. had been living with his son since the death of his wife Hattie. I suspected that Frank Sr. died out of NYS. VT would be very close, yet explain why NYS did not have his death certificate.
