I have a sheet from a book with me today and noticed this surname, which is "different" and was not familiar to me.I am entering this information (which I probably found in a book I have on land records in P.G. Co., MD.) in hopes that it will help someone.
"Folio 26, Indenture 6 Aug 1720; enrolled 27 Dec 1720; from Samuel Perrie, merchant of Prince George's County and Sarah his wife to Philip Lee, merchant of Prince George's County. A grant of 500 acres of land laid out for John Smith of Calvert County, dated 14 Aug 1694; asigned by Smith to William Barton of calvert County; Capt. Richard Smith, surveyor General, laid out for Barton 313 acres called Barton's Hope; land now in Prince George's County and Charles County on the west side of the Patuxent River, bounded by Bottom's Branch near land formerly surveyed for Richard Marsham on the east side of Coach road; containing 313 acres in the 'Manor of Calverton;' disposed of 100 acres to Thomas Gibbons, 100 acres by will to Thomas Gantt, the residue to Sarah Barton, his daughter, with another tract of land called 'The Additio;' said tract of land assigned to William Barton from Ann Lee, spinster of Calvert County, lying in Prince George's County and Charles County now on the west side of the Patuxent; bounded by barton's Hope and land of James Bitter; containing 100 acres; Samuel Perrie and Sarah his wife sold the remining part of 'Barton's Hope' and 'The Addition" to Phillip Lee for 40 lbs; containing 200 acres."This was witnessed by Jos. Belt and Thos. Sprigg.
