I believe the father of Dr. John Perrigo (1766 - 1820) to be John Perrigo b. c 1733 s/o James & Lydia (Hayward)Perrigo.I base this on land records for Pownal, Bennington Co., VT. In 1785 there are two transactions where John Perrigo sells land to William Clarke. The first, vol. 3 pg 11 was witnessed by Rufus Perrigo.The second, vol. 3 pg 12 was witnesses by John Perrigo jr.Dr. John Perrigo is the only John in the area that would have been the right age to be John jr.

Concerning the David Perrigo who married Catherine Alsop 24Dec1735 Boston, MA,he is probably a brother of James and a son of Robert Perrigo jr of Boston. There is no record of any children for David & Catherine and she attempted to remarry in 1746 to a William Dewerson. David did have an illegitimate son David b. Oct 1735 to an Elizabeth Denning in Gloucester, Essex, MA.This David married twice and had many children born in Gloucester and by 1780 had removed to New Gloucester, ME.
