Tennessee was my paternal grandmother's sister.Tennessee was the youngest of eight children. I have a photo of her grave site in the Boatman Cemetery just outside of Salina, Oklahoma. And I think I have a photo of her with her family.I'll have to check. There are several Pesterfields buried in the Boatman Cemetery. Aunt Tin, or Tinnie - is what my dad and his siblings called her. My grandmother was Emily Ida (or Emilia in some records - but not on her birth certificate.) The youngest daughter of Henry and Susan was born in 1891 and went for quite a while unnamed. Finally, Henry declared if Susan wouldn't name the child, he would. He did, and named her Tennessee after his native state. The name Henry Pesterfield gets pretty tangled up back just a few generations.I do have some info though, if you're interested. My aunt is under the impression that the name is of German origin.
