Finally, I have found someone in my line! I have no idea if I am a Newtown Coe; that is my married name. I am a PRATT descending from Connecticut. This side of the family is my maternal ancestors.
This is my line: Henry Forbell (3 NOV 1784) & Anne Morrell are my GGGG Grandparents
Sally (Sarah Ann) Anne Forbell (11 DEC 1824) & Jerome Smith Gainer, MY GGG grandparents.
Their daughter – Anne Agnes Gainer (22 DEC 1849) married Thomas Roberts (11 DEC 1845) my GG Grandparents.
Their daughter Sarah Fannie Roberts (4 AUG 1873) married Stephen Searles Soper (23 SEP 1857) Their son was my maternal grandfather Elmer Ellsworth Soper, b: 17 DEC 1899
So I have the Pettit children under the wrong parents?
I started with research my great Aunt Maisie (Soper) and one of her cousins (George Dewey Parkhill, in the Hitchcock line) started. They had Andrew Jackson Pettit married to Rebecca Smith, and John Wesley Pettit born 3/12/1823 married to a Rebecca Unknown.
Are these John Wesley Pettit and Rebecca Smiths children? 1. John w. Pettit, b: abt 1851 New Lots, Kings, NY, married Margretta Robinson and had Joseph Smith Pettit, 1878 Elmer J. Pettit, 1875 Walter Charles Pettit Joshua Pettit George Pettit Wesley Pettit
2. Andrew Pettit 3. Joseph Pettit 4. Joshua Pettit 5. Robert Pettit (I have as born about DEC 1859 – your great grandfather?) 6. Elizabeth Pettit 7. Abraham Pettit and 8. Samuel Pettit
I have no information on them.
Now on Marie Louise Pettit, I have her born about 1827 and residing in Brooklyn, Kings, 17th ward, in 1880. She married Joshua Hitchcock and had: John Henry Hitchcock, died in infancy Ruby Ann RebeccaHitchcock, married Henry Searles Sarah Maria Hitchcock, b: 1848 Mary Paddock Hitchcock, married Arthur W. Browne Henrietta Martha Hitchcock, b: 1854 Joshua Henry Hitchcock, b: 1856, married Maybelle Androvette Anne Elizabeth Hitchcock, b: 1861, married Joshua Thomas (Jess) Parkhill Carrie (Caroline) Amelia Hitchcock, b: 1867, married Joseph Asbury Forrester
