Yes, indeed I have. I first visited the area before the actual site of Littletown had been discovered, and I was there many times during the excavations and after the preservaton project was complete. About 1971, I wrote to the Virginia Historic Landmarks Commission to find out if anything was known about the location of the Pettus manor house. I received a reply from Dr. William M. Kelso, who had recently been hired to perform an archaeological survey of the entire Kingsmill tract, which had been purchased by the Anheuser-Busch Corp. and scheduled for development. At the time, Kelso did not have any information on the house site, but he promised to keep me informed on his progress. I have not been to the site since Busch built its new corporate retreat next to the foundations of the Pettus manor house, but I believe that it is still accessible, at least if one makes arrangements in advance.
