During the past month, I received several biographical sketches with pictures of distant cousins. This new information has now been included in my book. I am expecting three more next week. I have also worked on removing warning flags throughout the book indicating missing or suspicious information. I went through all 36 chapters and 17 appendixes to make sure formats were consistent throughout. This review turned up several inconsistencies, which I have fixed.
Two days ago, I happened to come across important new information that answers some longstanding genealogical questions about Thomas Pettus II of Littletown plantation, James City County, Virginia, and his wife Mourning (her maiden name was not Glenn!). This information reveals that Thomas died no later than 1687, which is at least three years earlier than presumed. I am presently revising Thomas's biography to reflect this new information, but I expect to learn more in the next week or two.
