During the past month, I hired one of the archivists at the Rotterdam City Archives to translate the Dutch documents relating to Thomas Pettus II of Virginia for me. In the meantime, I finished highlighting all of the key words and phrases throughout my book for the index. As of this morning, I have finished revising the index databases for the introduction and first four chapters to include all of the key words and phrases and the page numbers where they appear. I have used birth/baptismal and death dates to distinguish among Pettuses who have the same given names. I will now proceed with the index database for chapter 5. I hope that the Dutch translations will be available in time for me to make any necessary revisions to chapter 6 (which has the biography of Thomas Pettus II of Virginia) before I am ready to create the index database for that chapter.
