My grandfather was a Pfeffer from Galicia (Moshe or Moses Pfeffer).
He moved to Israel by himself in the early 1900's (guess around 1930's). I belive the specific village they came from is Viezhbob (means some kind of tree in Polish maybe a willow tree).
He helped bring his sister - Zafra - to Israel as well.
His father, my great grandfather, moved to New York from Galicia as a young man in the late 1800's and lived there for a few years before returning to Galicia to marry. He died in the holocaust along with his wife and kids (except for my grandfather Moses/Moshe and his sister Zafra).
In Israel my grandfather's name was changed from Pfeffer to Feffer.
Any other Galician 'Feffer's?
