It is known from the Will of her mother that Elizabeth Holton married a Farr. Her parents were Francis Holton and Margery. Margery's second husband was William Morrison. These people were residents of York County, Pennsylvania. Margery died August 27, 1761. The husband of Elizabeth Holton is not identified in any work I have seen. It appears to me her husband must have been Ephraim Farr (Pharr, Phair) who died testate in or about Lexington, Oglethorpe County, Georgia in 1798. This is not the same Ephraim Farr who died testate in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina in 1784. The Georgia Ephriam had children Mary, Elizabeth Holton, Margaret, Jemima, and Ephrium. My authority is the book Pharrs and Farrs by Henry Newton Pharr, 1955. The Georgia Ephraim had a sister, Margery, who appears to have been the wife of Joseph Wallace, son of William Wallace and Ann Holton (Houlton). Another sibling of Georgia Ephraim was John Houlton Farr (Pharr, Phair). All the genealogies I have seen say the wife of the Georgia Ephraim Farr (Pharr, Phair) was either Jane Smith or Mary Smith. I don't know what this information is based on. Perhaps he married two or three times. I also have not seen a copy of the Will of the Georgia Ephraim. According to Pharrs and Farrs he used the name Ephraim Phair in his Will which is filed in Will Book A, Page 78 in Oglethorpe Co., Georgia. I would like to learn more about this Ephraim Phair who died in Georgia. The information in the Pharrs and Farrs book is skimpy. Bill LaBach in Lexington, Kentucky.
