I have two Samuel Thatcher Pharr's. One born 1832 in Ga and died 22 March 1898 and is bur. in Troup C. Ga. That not to far from Tallapoosa. The other is Samuel b. 1793 in Abbeville SC and d. in Arkansas. The older one is know to have a sister named Jane. His sister Jane married Elias Giles. The Samuel Thatcher who died in Troup c. was a doctor. This one had a son named Edward M. and I think a son named Ruby which I have been working on for some time. There was a store in Troup c. with the name Pharr brothers. Some notes: 2.5.149 Pharrs and Farrs says was a Presbyterian Minister and Doctor of Medicine. Became a Methodist after marriage. Says was named for his Uncle. Got birth and death dates from Troup County Historical society. Also listing two more Pharrs who are unknown at this time. R. O Pharr (Ruby Otis) b. 23 July 1874 and d. 10 July 1943 along with Mrs. R O Pharr b. 17 Dec. 1869 (Alice E. Henderson) and d. 25 Dec. 1945. They were married 14 May 1896 in Troup County, Ga. Since the book Pharrs and Farrs had Samuel dieing in the War between the states but this is wrong as I find him in Troup C. where he enlised after the war. The book is noted to have mistakes as all books on genealogy do. This family is in the Edward Phair line. I will try in the next few weeks to see if I can find a list for Doctors in Alabama around 1880 to 1890 and see if that has anything. As I'm sure you know most of the 1890 census was destroyed in a fire. I have Elijah Martin who married Jane Pharr. She was the daughter of Samuel Thatcher who moved to Arkansas. Jane and Elijah were married in walton C. Ga. 6 Jan 1865. My notes on Elijah: Info from Harvey Day. Parents John Martin and Elizabeth Martin. After Jane died he married Sarah Winslett and had four more children. Notes on Jane: Children a. Samuel Thatcher 16 Sept. 1836, b. John W. Martin 23 Nov. 1838, c. Sanford McCalipin 26 Aug. 1843, d. Mary Martin abt. 1841, e. Paterson Samuel 19 Sept. 1847- 1927, Edward Levi 28 Feb. 1852- 1920. - Death may have been 29 Nov. 1852.
