Yes there is a Male (Y) DNA. There are a number of Pharr's but most are Farr's. I don't know of a Female (X) DNA. My guess is if your family matches you should be in Ephraim's family line. If not you could be in Henry's family line. Wait to find if we match and if you do I will send you info to get the family (Pharrs and Farrs) book. We have it on CD and it around $6.00 for a copy. Nothing I know of that cheap in genealogy. It's the orignal book wrote 1855 with additions and corrections added. I could not find Jackson on the 1900 census but found something saying he died in 1902 at Ancestry.com. I will see what I can add in the next few days. Follow the children and see if I can find them on the census. My family line is Edward. One of the four known Phair brothers. Henry, George and Ephrain are the other three brothes. The family is of Scot Irish ancestry and the family was in the early days Presbyterian.
