SPRINGFIELD - Kathryn J. Fahrenbacher, 85, of Springfield, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, at her home.
She was born June 30, 1921, in Springfield, the daughter of LeRoy and Lela May Drake Philbrook. She married Henry L. "Hank" Fahrenbacher in 1941; he died in 2004. A son, Kim Allen Fahrenbacher, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Fahrenbacher was a homemaker and, for more than 40 years, a child-care provider. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and TOPS. She was a Sunday school teacher for more than 25 years.
Survivors: eight sons, Gene (wife, Norma) Fahrenbacher of Denton, Texas, Gary (wife, Jenny) Fahrenbacher of Fresno, Calif., Mike (wife, Jeananne) Fahrenbacher of Elk Grove, Jorge (wife, Nancy) Fahrenbacher of Payson, Ariz., Ted, Bruce and Phillip Fahrenbacher, all of Springfield, and Chuck (wife, Kelley) Fahrenbacher of Riverton; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six sisters, Lois Fahrenbacher of Frisco, Texas, Lee (husband, Fel) DeGeronimo of Santa Cruz, Calif., Helen (husband, Milton) Dinkle of Mandeville, La., Janet (husband, Joe) Isaac of Covington, La., Joanne (husband, Bill) Newton of Orangevale, Calif., and Peggy (husband, Robin) Carol of Springfield, La.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, First Church of the Nazarene, the Rev. Fred Prince officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
